Doon Insights
Bringing together thought leaders and transformative startups to explore key technology trends & start conversations that continue
What Sets Us Apart
Our Retreats
We host two different kinds of retreats at Doon Insights: Workshops and Salons. For both, we work with our core network to build out a program on today’s pressing topics and issues facing a variety of industries. Our goal at all of our events is to open a window to what's happening in technology today, to better assess what’s to come in the future.
Workshops
Our Workshops feature 10+ startup presentations that accompany the discussion panels, debates, and SOMM sessions. We hand-pick startups that have the potential to upend their industries; phenomenal tech-savvy founders with vision and solutions to intractable problems. These early-stage startups, vetted by investors and our internal team, come to our workshops on the edge of something great.
Salons
Our Salons are interactive round-table retreats where everyone has a microphone; so everyone is both a speaker and a listener. We gather investors, technologists, corporates, startups and other experts to discuss consequential topics of the day. These smaller, closed-door salons provide an intimate look inside our evolving ecosystems.
SOMM Sessions
We recently introduced a new facet to all of our retreats, “Something on My Mind” (SOMM) Mini-Sessions, where prominent folks in the industry present an interesting problem, technology, or new trend they’d like to share with the group. These 15-minute mini-sessions give our community the agency to help us build out the program and allow us to cover more ground together. If you’re interested in sharing what’s on your mind at an upcoming event, please fill out this form.
Natural Networking
One of the hallmarks of our retreats is the intimate setting we curate by capping attendance and following Chatam House Rules. We believe this sets us apart from your everyday conference. We strive to create an environment that stimulates authentic discourse, discovery, and debate. By doing so, it is our hope that our retreats foster personal relationships and meaningful partnerships.
No Marketing
While we do rely on sponsorships to help support our events, we continue to maintain a no-marketing rule. We ask all speakers not to directly market their products or companies, but instead focus on content. The only time marketing is allowed is when startups are presenting their own companies. This results in substantive, high-quality content and conversation.
Expert Analysis by Today’s Thought Leaders
We partner with best-in-class investors, strategic partners, and industry experts to explore investment opportunities, identify partnerships, and nurture meaningful relationships with leading startups.
“The curation of the environment and the people that you create at Bonny Doon is literally a behind the scenes driving force…These conversations transcend Bonny Doon, what happens there bleeds into the psyche of folks that are there and they bring what was just thrown into the ether during discussions, back to their big corporate OEMs, suppliers, and venture firms - it's literally the "Bonny Doon Downward Trickle Effect" - once things are said, things happen - and at your gatherings, things are said that no one feels free to say at conferences, public panels, in board rooms, etc.”
